Roadside breakdowns and accidents in tunnels are a source of great danger. Also, the environment is heavily exposed to high levels of noise, dust and moisture. Help Points cannot always be installed behind soundproof doors. Water seepage and frequently used tunnel washing equipment means everything has to be water resistant. Integration of voice, video, alarm monitoring and control functions are essential to enable the Control Room operator to manage the situation in and around the tunnel efficiently. Communication to and from drivers, control of lighting, ventilation and traffic lights, signals and barriers are all a part of Commend’s Tunnel system applications.

Marketed under the brand “AXYS Tunnel by HARMAN”, HARMAN’s tunnel public address (PA) loudspeakers deliver clear and intelligible PA announcements to the users of the tunnel, ensuring that tunnel operators can deliver clear instructions in even the most challenging of circumstances.
Commend’s communication solution acts as a single communication hub for all mission-critical communication and emergency telephone signals in the tunnel, bringing together all audio and voice communication signals, like public address, intercoms, HF radio broadcasts and mobile emergency service radio.
The two systems interface seamlessly, allowing operators and motorists to benefit from a unique combination tunnel security communication, for both inside and outside tunnels.
