Updating and networking existing PA systems the easy way
Need a power boost or technology update for your Public Address system? That’s easy: simply replace the existing amplifiers and central units by Commend IP amplifiers. Job done. Existing wiring and loudspeakers can be reused to keep the modernisation costs down. The upgraded system provides the full range of Commend functions. If required, multiple systems can be networked using the IP Amplifiers. It is also possible to integrate IP Loudspeakers, taking full advantage of all features and functions from the Commend world.
How telephones interface with PA solutions
Commend IP Amplifiers come with IoIP (Intercom over IP) and SIP capabilities, which allows them to integrate easily and seamlessly into existing VoIP/SIP-PBX systems as needed. This enables Public Address broadcasts via SIP telephones as well as the option of adding PA to existing SIP-PBX systems. Even serverless solutions can be implemented with very simple means, using SIP telephones and Commend IP Amplifiers or Commend IP Loudspeakers.
Decentralised concepts and options
Networking opens up a variety of options for decentralised solutions, as illustrated in the following examples:
- Public Address solutions for cities – these are used for issuing threat/danger alerts, and for communicating important information. PA broadcasts can be targeted to one or more specific zones to guide streams of pedestrians away from threats and safety hazards. Cameras provide the necessary visual support that allows remotely located staff to intervene in on-site situations and address individuals at the scene. In situations involving violence or crime, addressing perpetrators directly via a loudspeaker is proven to have a deterring and de-escalating effect. In everyday situations, the same communication connections can be used for providing information and assistance to pedestrians. This is made possible by easy-to-install on-site IP Amplifiers.
- One Commend project called for a number of schools and kindergartens to be networked for centralised announcements and information broadcasts. Existing loudspeakers were reused and complemented by IP horn loudspeakers in the outdoor areas. The result is a powerful system that provides enhanced security and improved distribution of information.
